Master in Engineering Sciences, Mention in Applied MathematicsThose who are in possession of a Bachelor’s degree or a Professional Degree, and whose level, content and duration of studies correspond to an equivalent training provided by the University of Chile, as determined by the Academic Committee of the Program, may apply to the Program.
Accredit previous training in accordance with the purposes and requirements of the program to which he/she is applying. The Academic Committee may decide that, in addition to the study of the background, the knowledge and competencies of the applicants in the disciplines of the program be evaluated. This evaluation may consist of an examination or other mechanisms to objectively verify their level of preparation.
The selection criteria for the Program will consider:
- Academic performance in previous university studies;
- Analytical capacity to approach and solve problems through the use of models and/or mathematical tools.
- Ability to join an intensive study regimen.
These criteria will be evaluated on the basis of:

Certificates of previous university studies, with the corresponding grades and grading scales;

Personal background in activities related to professional performance and experience;

Letters of recommendation from academics;

Letters of intent and interview.

In addition, the Program will evaluate the knowledge and competencies of the applicants by means of an examination or other mechanisms to objectively verify their level of preparation.
Application deadline: January 2, 2026
for starting studies during the 2026 academic year. However, it is recommended that each applicant apply early (in early November) so that, if accepted, they can begin requesting the necessary documents for scholarship applications and other additional requirements. It’s important to note that the application and acceptance into the program are not immediate and involve requesting authorizations, letters of support, and other internal procedures that may cause delays.
Important for ANID Scholarship applicants:
It is strongly recommended that each applicant apply for the Master’s Scholarships awarded by ANID. The Master’s program will sponsor all accepted applications.
